Jagatsinghpur: In connection with the alleged sex racket FIR against Tirtol MLA Bijay Sankar Das, Jagatsinghpur district police headquarters has requested the Crime Branch to take up the case.
Jagatsinghpur SP Akhileshvar Singh, in a letter to Additional DGP, Crime Branch Arun Bothra, shared details about the case. Basing on the written report of a woman from Deuli village under Grameswar police limits, a case has been registered against Bijay Sankar Das, he stated.
“The complainant has alleged that the accused is operating sex racket and running a brothel house. As a result of which there is much hue and cry over the issue politically as well as in social media,” the letter stated.
“As the FIR named accused is the sitting MLA of Tirtol Assembly Constituency. it has become a sensitive issue. The complainant also wants that the investigation of the case may be taken up by Crime Branch,” it further read.
The legislator’s girlfriend and wife-to-be Somalika Dash had accused him of running a sex racket. On the basis of her complaint, Jagatsinghpur police registered a case under Sections 420/195-A/50649294/309/ 341/120-B134 of the IPC and Sections 3/4/5/6 of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
