Bhubaneswar: A team of the Special Task Force (STF) today seized two leopard skins and arrested two persons following a raid on Kuchinda-Bonaigarh road near Thianala under Kuchinda Police Station in Sambalpur district in the wee hours of Thursday.
The raid was carried out with the help of forest officials of Bamara Forest Division.
The accused have been identified as Sankitan Munda and Dhaneswar Munda of Pahadamara village in Deogarh district.
According to sources close to STF, acting on a tip-off the wildlife sleuths with the help of forest officials conducted a raid and seized the leopard skins. The accused, however, could not produce any valid document for the animal skin. They have been booked under Wildlife Protection Act 1972 and they will be forwarded to court.
Meanwhile, the STF sleuths have decided to send the skin to the Director of WII, Derhadun for biological examination.
