Bhubaneswar: Odisha has demonstrated its excellence in skill development by securing the top position at the IndiaSkills 2025–26 national competition, achieving the highest medal tally among all states in the country. The state’s participants delivered an outstanding performance, winning a total of 57 medals. Out of the 90 competitors representing Odisha, 15 clinched Gold, 12 secured Silver, and 14 earned Bronze medals. Additionally, 16 participants were awarded Medallions for Excellence.
Congratulating the winners, Odisha’s Minister for Skill Development and Technical Education, Sampad Chandra Swain, praised the remarkable achievement and highlighted the state’s world-class training infrastructure, strong culture of skill excellence, and robust institutional support.
He expressed confidence that Odisha’s skilled youth will continue to shine on international platforms in the coming years. Bhupendra Singh Poonia, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, and Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra, CEO of the World Skill Center, also lauded the participants for their dedication, discipline, and technical expertise. They extended their best wishes for the upcoming international competitions. The medal winners were given a warm and enthusiastic welcome upon their arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, with officials from the World Skill Center acknowledging the strength and effectiveness of Odisha’s skilling ecosystem.
IndiaSkills 2025–26, organized by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), saw participation from over 650 competitors from across India. The competition was held at multiple venues, including Greater Noida and various centres in Odisha and other states, covering diverse sectors such as construction, manufacturing, ICT, creative arts, and services.
The top performers from this national championship will now represent India at the prestigious WorldSkills Competition, carrying forward the nation’s pride on the global stage.
