Paradip: In a shocking incident, an Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) was allegedly gang raped by four youths in the forested area near Nehru Bangala in port town Paradip on Friday evening.
The four youths allegedly abducted her in a red car near Nua Bazaar while she was going to meet the local ANM on her bicycle at around 7.30 PM on Friday before raping her in the forested area near Nehru Bangala.
They later allegedly dumped her on the road near Bank line.
“They were four in a red car. They forcibly took in me in the car to Nehru Bangala and raped me. I was physically tortured before being raped. I want justice,” the victim said.
On being informed, Paradip Adarsha Police rescued the victim and have launched an investigation into the matter.
The survivor has lodged a complaint at the Paradip Adarsha police station in this regard.
Police have detained the prime accused in the case. While a medical examination of the survivor has been conducted, police have launched a manhunt to nab the other accused persons.
“My daughter has been raped. She had been to meet the ANM didi when she was intercepted midway and forcibly taken in a car. I appeal to the government and the police for justice for my daughter. One of the accused has been nabbed and they are searching for the others,” said the victim’s father.
