Nabrangpur: With not one single person ready to be part of the final journey of their sister, two men loaded the body on a cycle for last rites.
This unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday at Matigaon in Gambariguda panchayat under Chandahandi block of Nabrangpur district.
As per reports, the deceased Nuakhai Pande (42) was the only sister of brothers Tekaram Pande and Purushottam Pande. Nuakhai passed away last night at 10 pm and as per traditions her last final passage needed presence of family and friends.
The brothers waited till today morning and even resorted to request the villagers to take part in the last rites. With no one coming forward, the men loaded the body on a bicycle and took it to Bhandari river banks for completion of cremation and other last rite formalities.
