Nuapada: A shocking incident has occurred in Kutiapada tribal village under Boden Block in a Nuapada district, where a man allegedly drowned his 14-month-old son to death and stabbed his 10-year-old daughter in a bid to kill her due to a family dispute.
Kishore Majhi, a resident of Kutiapada, was experiencing domestic violence issues with his wife Jayanti Majhi which prompted her to flee to her mother’s house, leaving behind their three children: Kamala Kanti (10), Lakshmi Kanti (8), and Chandan Majhi (14 months).
Kishore took the children to the forest, where the eldest daughter grew suspicious of his intentions and escaped from him. Tragically, he administered some medicine to the 14-month-old son and pushed him in a water body. He then slit the throat of his middle daughter, Lakshmi Kanti, who was rescued in critical condition and is being treated at Boden Health Center. Her condition remains critical, with two fingers also severed.
Police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the father, who fled the scene after committing the crime.
