**Keonjhar:** Sending shockwaves down the pulse of Odisha’s denizens, a jilted married woman allegedly chopped off a youth’s genital in Harichandanpur area here late last night.
The youth, Rajendra Nayak of Jharabeda village under Ghatagaon area, sustained critical injuries after the attack and was initially admitted to Harichandanpur hospital. He was later shifted to the district headquarters hospital after his condition deteriorated.
Nayak has claimed that he was involved with the accused married woman in a love affair. “She was insecure about the fact that I was talking to other girls over the phone. So, I stopped when she asked me to do so. Later, when she started talking to other men, I reprimanded her and asked her to have conversation with me only. All this had resulted in turning our affair sour. She might have committed the act due to this matter,” the victim said.
The woman had called him to her house in Harichandanpur to give him Rs 10,000 for buying a bike as he was employed in Chennai. On reaching her house, the woman allegedly forced him to consume liquor and after he became unconscious, the woman and one of her friends cut off his private part, Nayak alleged.
“They were trying to kill me completely as they had wringed my neck as well. Somehow, I dragged myself out of the house and was spotted by some locals who called an ambulance for me,” he concluded.
