Bhubaneswar: Shop owners in the Capital City have been allowed to hire private security guards to enforce COVID-19 guidelines on their respective premises. The Commissionerate Police granted the permission during a meeting with market committees and associations today.
As per reports, the market committees, and traders’ associations have been allowed to engage private security guards. These personnel will enforce social distancing and use of masks. They will also ensure that market places are not crowded.
In case, the crowds are unruly and do not abide the decorum, the shop owners have been asked to report to ‘Dial 100’ immediately. The market committees can also install speakers at vantage points to spread awareness messages on safety and hygiene guidelines to check the spread of COVID-19.
