Should India Accept Imran’s Peace Appeal? What Do Denizens Have To Say?

**Bhubaneswar: ** With the tension mounting between the two neighboring countries of India and Pakistan as both are at loggerheads over the past few weeks post February 14 Pulwama dastardly attack and an IAF pilot captured by Pakistan Army since yesterday (February 27), all fingers are crossed and situations across the nations are on tenterhooks.

On the contrary, Pakistan Prime Minister has appealed India for peace talks.

Under such a scenario, OMMCOM NEWS tried to gather reactions of the denizens and intelligentsia of Odisha’s capital city and here are their reactions on Imran Khan’s peace appeal.

Retired Odisha Police Commandant Satyanarayan Jamadar opined, “First of all the Prime Minister of Pakistan should drive out the terrorists from their country. Let him first take stringent action against terrorism and terrorists and afterwards they (Pakistan) can exchange peace dialogue.”

In his reactions, Odisha Agriculture Department retired employee Samar Kumar Sengupta said, “We have lost trust on them (Pakistan). If they really appeal for peace, certainly there should be a peace talk held. Actually declaration of war is not just. But the befitting reply we have given to their conduct is extremely good.”

Bhubaneswar denizen Pitabas Das said, “India’s demand should be for the leader of JeM Massod Azhar. If Pakistan is handing him over, then there is no need for any war. Or else there must be war.”

Another Bhubaneswar denizen Saroj Sarangi said, “We don’t have any enmity with Pakistan. War means against the terrorists, they must be eliminated. In this context, the action of India is right. It should continue.”

Yet another Bhubaneswar denizen Minaketan Choudhury said, “Pakistan must be punished at any cost.”

Also another Bhubaneswar denizen Daitari Parida said, “We support the step taken. Terrorists must be completely eliminated. India as well as Pakistan should propser under a peaceful environment. If our neighbouring nation lives happily, we will be extremely happy.”

Senior journalist Dilip Bisoi opined, “If peace will prevail by means of exchanging dialogue instead of war, interest must be evinced in that regard. We shouldn’t think that war will cause damage only to the enemy. Damage will also be caused to us. War is never beneficial to anyone. Hence, all should try to avoid war.”

“When they (Pakistan) are keen on dialogue, we should also keep our options open. But, Pakistan should first desist from its attacking antics before intiating the peace talks with India. Also the militants should be totally driven out of Pakistan soil. Or else, it’s all useless holding peace dialogue,” remarked the senior scribe.
