Puri: Shree Jagannath Temple is fully safe, claimed Puri’s titular king Gajapati Dibya Singha Deb in his reaction on the under-construction Puri Heritage Corridor project, which has courted controversy.
“Mahaprabhu’s work is everyone’s work. It’s not the work of any individual, or of any party or any government. It’s the work of all devotees of the Mahaprabhu. We should all participate in it and should do it unitedly,” opined Deb.
He said that if there is any problem it should be sorted out through discussion.
“Any kind of agitation or similar obstacles should not be created in Mahaprabhu’s work. If there is any problem it should be sorted out by arriving at a solution through discussion,” he added.
Several political parties and civil society organisations had expressed apprehension over the safety of the Shree Jagannath Temple in view of the largescale excavation around the perimeter wall of the temple for the Puri Heritage Corridor project.
Deb is the adyasevak (first servitor) of Lord Jagannath the presiding deity of the temple. He is the president of the managing committee of the Shree Jagannath Temple
