Puri: The Managing Committee of the Shree Jagannath Temple at its meeting here today finalised the timing schedule of rituals to be conducted starting from Snana Yatra till the end of Ratha Yatra.
“The Managing Committee of the Shree Mandir today approved the timing schedule of the rituals to be conducted from Snana Yatra till the end of the Ratha Yatra,” informed Working Chairman of the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee and Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena briefing reporters here after the meeting.
Jena added that the timing schedule of rituals was earlier discussed and finalised by the Niti Sub Committee and the Chhattisa Nijog.
Jena said that he chaired the managing committee meeting since Chairman Gajapati Maharaja Dibya Singh Deb is on a foreign trip.
Operationalisation of the Gurukul from the academic session 2024-25 was also discussed at the meeting, he added.
Strengthening of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) with the recent appointment Ranjan Kumar Das as a full-time administrator was also discussed during the meeting, he informed.
Proposals in this regard will be sent to the Law Department which after studying those will send those to the government for approval, he added.
Jena said plans are afoot to make silk attires for the Lords by modifying the process for extraction of silk without killing the silkworm.
Today’s meeting was attended by the Chief Administrator of the SJTA, the District Collector, Members of the Managing Committee and other senior officers among others.
