Bhubaneswar: Following the news of a tourist bus plunging into the Teesta River in Sikkim, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep sorrow and initiated discussions with the Sikkim government.
Upon learning that several passengers from Odisha were on board the ill-fated bus and had gone missing, CM Majhi held discussions with Sikkim authorities to ensure the rescue, medical treatment, and repatriation of the affected tourists.
To facilitate the smooth management of the rescue and relief efforts, CM Majhi has directed a special team of Odisha officials to proceed to Sikkim. This team will oversee the safety and medical care of the tourists, ensuring that all necessary support is provided during this critical time.
