Bhubaneswar: Four of the five Odisha labourers rescued from the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand on Tuesday after being trapped for 17 days, reached Odisha on Friday. Another labourer from Odisha reportedly stayed back in Uttarakhand with his relatives.
While Dhiren Nayak of Badakudar and Bisweswar Nayak of Jogibandh in Mayurbhanj, Raju Nayak of Kuldiha in Balasore, and Bhagaban Bhotra of Nabarangpur, returned to Bhubaneswar today by flight from New Delhi, Tapan Mandal of Bhadrak district stayed back with his relative in Uttarakhand.
The four rescued labourers were welcomed by Sarada Prasad Nayak, Odisha Labour and Employee’s State Insurance Department, and several organisations outside the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) on their arrival today.
Earlier, on Thursday, 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman VK Pandian interacted with the five rescued labourers through video call and enquired about their health.
