Silver City Fans Celebrate India’s Thrilling Win in Cuttack ODI

**Cuttack**: India’s thrilling win was celebrated by fans, former cricketers and cricketers here at Barabati Stadium. In Virat Kohli’s second match as full-time One Day International (ODI) captain, India scripted a series-clinching a 15-run victory.

After 5 long years, man of the match Yuvraj Singh scored a century in the international cricket. The left hander scored 150 runs of 127 balls in the game with 21 fours and 3 sixes. Former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni also scored a devastating century after 3 years. These spectacular performances were highly appreciated by the local fans.

Bikas, a local cricket enthusiast, said, “Initially I thought that the team has lost its form. Especially when captain Kohli got out, India was in a very bad shape. But the Dhoni- Yuvi duo made wonders.”

Komal, a die-hard sports lover from Bhubaneswar also had similar views. She said, “Last time we went back with bitter experiences. Upset with team India’s poor performance in a Twenty20 International against South Africa, fans hurled plastic bottles onto the ground. That was definitely an unpleasant behavior but this time we’ll all return with happy faces. ”

Chasing a big total of 382 runs, England also displayed an aggressive run-chase. But English skipper Eoin Morgan’s superb 102 was not quite enough to beat the home team.

However, Morgan succeeded to win millions of hearts here in the silver city.
Describing his experience, a young fan said, “I never saw such an inning in my life. He almost clinched the match for his team. England. They might have lost the match but Morgan has earned millions of fans tonight.”
