Bhubaneswar: The Similipal Tiger Reserve and surrounding areas are experiencing a severe cold wave, with temperatures plummeting to 4°C at Upper Baraha Kamuda (UBK) Area.
The cold wave has engulfed the foothill regions, including Jashipur, Thakurmunda, Karanjia, Raruan, and Sukruli blocks, with dense fog and chilly winds making life difficult for residents.
According to reports, the minimum temperature in Chahala was 8°C, while Gurugudia also recorded 8°C at 6 am. The Similipal Tiger Reserve authorities have confirmed the temperature readings.
The cold wave has disrupted daily life, with residents struggling to cope with the harsh weather conditions.
