Cuttack: A woman has levelled serious allegations against popular Ollywood playback singer Shourin Bhatt.
The woman has accused Bhatt of exploiting her both physically and financially.
The woman, who reportedly works in a private bank, has lodged a complaint against Bhatt at the Mahila Police station here.
According to sources, the Mahila Police has registered a case under sections 376 (sexual assault), 493 (cohabitation caused by a man deceitfully inducing a belief of lawful marriage), 341 (wrongful restraint), 506 (threat to cause death or grievous hurt), 417 (cheating) of the IPC in this connection on the basis of the woman’s complaint.
The sources said that the woman had come in contact with the playback singer about three years ago and they were in a relationship. Bhatt had promised to marry her and had allegedly taken Rs 9 lakh from her. He also promised to give her a break as a singer, the sources added.
The woman, however, refused to divulge any details to the media.
