Sisters Jump From Moving Train In Sundargarh, One Killed

Sundargarh: Elder among two sisters were killed and the other severely injured after they jumped from a moving train near Himgir railway station in Sundargarh district on Monday. While the deceased has been identified as Bidesini Mahanandia, the injured sister is Subasini Mahanandia.

Reportedly, both of them are native of Chikhili in Bargarh district. After the death of their parents Subasini was staying at her maternal uncle’s house in Kanika under Hemgiri block of the district and was a student of Class 9 in Kanika Sevashram.

Subasini had during her holidays visited elder sister Bidesini staying at Raigarh in Chhattisgarh. Today they were waiting for a passenger train to Himgir but mistakenly boarded the South Bihar Express train.

As the train did not halt at Himgir railway station, they jumped from the moving train. Locals immediately rushed them to Hemgiri hospital where Bidesini was declared dead while Subasini was shifted to Sundargarh district headquarters hospital.
