Bhubaneswar: Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Kumar Jena this evening asked authorities and people to remain alert from tonight till Thursday afternoon as the rivers will be emptying the peak flow into the sea.
Addressing a presser on the flood situation in the State, Jena said that currently the peak flow passing through the barrage over river Mahanadi at Mundali was 12.01 lakh cusecs while that at Khairmal was 8.50 lakh cusecs.
He informed that the reservoir level of Hirakud Dam was 626.87 feet and the current inflow into the reservoir is 6.36 lakh cusecs while the outflow is 6.74 lakh cusecs.
Informing on breaches in river embankments in the Mahanadi system, the SRC said that two breaches have occurred in the embankments of river Makara in Puri district and in river Rajua’s right embankment in Khordha district.
