Bhubaneswar: In a swift action, Jajpur police on Monday arrested six persons for allegedly planning a dacoity near Narasingh Choudhury Autonomous College in Jajpur district.
Acting on a tip-off, a special police team carried out a raid and apprehended the suspects before they could execute the planned crime. The operation led to the recovery of one katuri (sharp weapon), an iron rod, nine water pumps, 10 kilograms of AC copper pipe, 5 kilograms of copper wire, and 20 water taps.
“All six accused were taken into custody and a case (No. 460/25) has been registered. They were produced before the court on Tuesday,” police said.
Further investigation is underway to determine if they are linked to other similar incidents in the district.
