Six Die In Lightning Strike In Odisha; CM Announces Ex-Gratia

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep grief over the death of six people due to lightning in separate incidents in Odisha.

He announced Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia compensation to the family of each deceased.

The CM expressed his condolences to the bereaved families. The State government will bear the medical expense of the injured, the CM said in a statement, wishing them a speedy recovery.

Notably, six people died and some others were injured due to lightning in four districts of the state.

According to the information received so far, two persons each died in Balasore and Bhadrak districts, while one person each died in Dhenkanal and Kendrapara districts.
