Sonepur: A six-foot-long python was safely rescued from the premises of Subarnameru Temple here in Subarnapur district on Friday.
The incident occurred when temple priests noticed the snake coiled inside the temple’s water tank early in the morning.
They quickly alerted a local snake-rescue team, seeking assistance. Pramod Dasia, an experienced local snake catcher, responded promptly to the call and rushed to the temple.
The python was found entangled in the water tank area, making the rescue effort challenging due to its size and the confined location.
Dasia successfully freed the python from the tank and handed it over to the Forest Department officials, who later released it safely into a nearby forest.
The Subarnameru Temple is a revered shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, attracting many worshippers.
