Six Injured In Explosion At Unlicensed Cracker-Making Unit In Jajpur

Jajpur: Six persons of a family were injured in an explosion at an unlicensed cracker-making unit in Bachhal village under Binjharpur block of Jajpur district on Saturday.

Reportedly, Ramakant Sahu of the village was preparing explosives in his house when the crackers went off. He along with his sons Soubhagya and Sudhansu, mother Rukmani Sahu, sister Santilata Sahu and an unidentified person were injured in the blast.

While all of them were first admitted at Binjharpur Community Health Centre (CHC), Ramakant has been shifted to SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack as his condition worsened.

It is worthwhile to mention that a wall of the house also collapsed in the explosion. On getting information Binjharpur Police and fire brigade reached at the spot and have initiated a probe into the matter.
