Six Injured In Group Clash During Goddess Kali Idol Immersion In Cuttack

Cuttack: Six people were injured in a group clash during Goddess Kali idol immersion procession near Chandini Chowk Royal Garden in Cuttack on Sunday late night. All the injured have been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital here.

According to the police, a group of youths of Muhammadiya Bazar area had an argument with youths of Chandini Chowk Hasinabagh area while returning after immersing the Goddess Kali idol. The situation deteriorated soon and the groups attacked each other with stones and glass bottles.

It is alleged that the miscreants vandalized a shop and three motorbikes. On being informed, a team from Lalbagh police station reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

However, while the real reason behind the flare-up is not known, the Lalbagh police have launched a manhunt to arrest the accused.
