Bhubaneswar: Odisha is bracing for a warm spell, with morning temperatures showing a significant spike across the state. As per the latest data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), several major cities are already recording higher-than-usual temperatures, signalling a potentially sweltering day ahead.
According to IMD, Puri is sizzling with a temperature of 33.4°C, making it the hottest city in the region at 8:30 am today. Chandbali and Paradip are closely following with temperatures of 32.8°C and 32.6°C, respectively. Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda have recorded a temperature of 32°C each. Balasore and Gopalpur have temperatures of 31.8°C and 31.4°C, respectively, at 8:30 am.
The rising morning temperatures are expected to continue throughout the day, with residents advised to take necessary precautions to stay cool and hydrated. The IMD will continue to monitor the weather situation and provide updates as necessary.
