Puri: The second meeting for reconciliation of the Panjika (almanac) for the 2026–27 calendar year concluded on Tuesday at the office of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), with officials asserting that all festival-related information will remain accurate and error-free.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, SJTA Chief Administrator Arabinda Kumar Padhee said extensive discussions were held to ensure precision in the dates and observances of all rituals, festivals, and yatras associated with the Shree Jagannath Temple. He emphasized that no discrepancies would be tolerated in the upcoming Panjika publications.
Padhee informed that five Panjika publishers—Kohinoor, Radharaman, Bhagyadeep, Arunodaya, and G.N. Tripathi—have been officially approved by the SJTA to publish the almanac for 2026–27 with accurate details related to the temple’s rituals and festivals.
“All Yatra processions will commence from Mahavishuva Sankranti, and preparations have been finalized for all major rituals and festivals up to Badi Nrusimha Bije in 2027,” the Chief Administrator said.
He further warned that strict action will be initiated against any Panjika publication institution found printing incorrect information regarding Shree Jagannath Temple festivals, rituals, or observances. Publishers were urged to maintain the highest level of accuracy, considering the religious and cultural significance of the almanac.
The meeting, chaired by the SJTA Chief Administrator, was attended by representatives of the Muktimandap Pandit Sabha, Pujapanda Nijog, Shree Jagannath Temple Commander, members of the Managing Committee, Deula Karana, Tadhau Karana, Chhatisa Nijog Mahanayak, and senior administrative officers of the Shree Jagannath Temple.
