Bhubaneswar: In a significant move, the Odisha government has made two key appointments in the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) to streamline its management.
Going by the official notification issued in this regard, OAS officer Debabrata Sahoo, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Ganjam, has been transferred and posted as Administrator (Development) of SJTA, Puri.
Additionally, OAS officer Dipti Ranjan Sethi, Khordha Sub-Collector, has been designated as Deputy Administrator (Revenue) of SJTA, Puri. Sethi will oversee the management of land properties belonging to the deities in the Khurda district, in addition to his existing duties.
The appointments came on the heels of SJTA serving show-cause notices to 19 leaseholders of temple-owned stone quarries in Khurda district for excess mining. The leaseholders have been asked to pay royalties, incidental charges, and penalties within a week.
