Balasore: The remains (skull and bones) of a human being was recovered from a pond in Panisulia under Singla police limits in the district today morning. The police retrieved the remains from the water body after being informed by locals. The bones were packed in a bag and dumped into the pond, because of which it is suspected to be a case of murder.

It may be noted that one and a half years back, a young girl went missing from Panisulia Durundi Kala village and a complaint was filed in this connection. However, the police could not trace her. The villagers suspect the remains to be of the same missing girl. Police have registered a case and started an investigation into the matter.
