Bhubaneswar: Deepali Das, daughter of slain Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, has reportedly been duped of Rs 1.5 lakh by cyber frauds. On Monday, she lodged a complaint with the Ainthapalli police station in the Sambalpur district of Odisha, alleging that scammers stole Rs 1.5 lakh from her account with the Ainthapalli branch of the ICICI Bank in two phases.
In her complaint, Deepali wrote, “I received two SMS messages on my registered mobile number on Sunday last that Rs 1,00,000 and Rs 50,000 were debited from my account with the Ainthapalli branch of the ICICI Bank. However, these withdrawals were not done by me, nor did I share my bank account details with anyone.”
Deepali has already taken up the matter with her bank authorities and sought police help in recovering the lost money as well as in nabbing the cyber scammers.
Meanwhile, Ainthapalli police have registered a case (no. 125/23) in this connection under Sections 419 and 420 IPC and Sections 66(C) and 66 (D) of the Information Technology Act 2000.
