‘Snail Paced Investigation In The Much Hyped Palace Mass Suicide Case’

**Bhubaneswar:** Aggrieved kin of Parala Maharaja’s former manager Anang Manjari Patra on Tuesday appealed the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) requesting expedition of the ongoing probe into the mysterious deaths of the four siblings.

Amulya Patra, brother of Ananga Manjari said, ” It’s been months, but there is no tangible progress in the case. We came here to urge for speeding up the probe.”

“We demand strict action against Paralakhemundi MLA K Surya Rao, former BJD Gajapati district president Basant Das and his son Debi Prasad Das, Basant Panda, Sudhir Ranjan Mahapatra and the Odia news channel because of whom my siblings committed suicide” cried the bereft brother.

Notably, Anang Manjari, in August 2016, hogged the headlines for allegedly keeping the Gajapati Maharaja under house arrest leading to his deteriorating health.

Following mass protests in Parlakhemundi then tainting their images and reputations, decomposed bodies of Ananga Manjari, her sister Bijaylaxmi and brother Sanjay were recovered from her Jangam Sahi residence in Paralakhemundi on August 21.

Another brother, Santosh was rescued from the house where he was found wriggling on the kitchen floor in a critical condition and he also later succumbed at MKCG in Berhampur.
