Bhubaneswar: A snake rescuer reportedly died after being bitten by a venomous snake while performing snake tricks in public. This shocking incident took place at Bakagura village in Balangir district.

The deceased has been identified as Santosh Chand of Sindheikela.

According to reports, Santosh was called to catch a snake that had entered a villager’s house. He successfully rescued the snake, a cobra, and was entertaining the crowd by performing various stunts with the reptile. However, during performing tricks, the poisonous snake bit him on his tongue, and the venom quickly spread through his body.

He was rushed to Bhawanipatna Hospital in a critical condition. He, however, succumbed to the snakebite injuries a few minutes after his admission to the hospital.
