Dhenkanal: Police arrested a habitual chain snatcher from Batipada under Aul police limits in Kendrapara with seizure of a cache of gold ornaments.
The police seized two gold mangal sutra, 44 grams of gold chains, a pair of 6-gram ear rings, and a TVS Apache bike from his possession. The seized ornaments is worth Rs 8.50 lakh, police said.
Mahakul has been involved in chain snatching cases across various districts in Odisha, targeting women wearing gold necklaces while riding his motorcycle. He would identify his targets, follow them, and snatch the gold chains. His involvement in similar cases is under verification
