Baripada: The mercury dropped to its lowest point in Odisha this winter with the Upper Baraha Kamuda (UBK) area in Similipal recording 0°C at 6.00 am on Thursday. A thin sheet of snow was seen in some places in UBK.
According to information made available by Sai Kiran, Deputy Director of the Similipal North WL Division, the minimum temperatures (night temperatures) recorded at various places in the Similipal region are as below:
- Ramatirtha 11⁰C
- Gurguria 7.0⁰C
- Kiajhari 11.0⁰C
- Barehipani 9.0⁰C
- UBK 0⁰C
- Nawana 6.0⁰C
