Rayagada: In a shocking incident, unidentified miscreants shot dead a social activist in the Gunupur area of Odisha’s Rayagada district on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Gauri Mishra, director of an NGO.
According to reports, the incident occurred when Gauri Mishra was passing through the Bansadhara Bridge on a motorbike. It is suspected that the miscreants shot Mishra from close range.
While the precise reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, local police have started an investigation into the crime. A team of forensic experts also visited the spot from where Mishra’s body was recovered.
