Phulbani (Kandhamal): An anti-Maoist Special Operations Group (SOG) jawan was injured on Wednesday when his own gun accidentally discharged during a combing operation in the Daringbadi forest along the Kandhamal-Ganjam border.
According to Kandhamal Superintendent of Police Harisha B.C., 27-year-old SOG jawan Sukant Majhi sustained a bullet injury due to a freak firing while on duty.
He was immediately shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Brahmapur, where his condition is reported to be stable.
