Bhubaneswar: The Blue Flag beach of Puri in Odisha garnered praises from engineer, innovator and education reformist Sonam Wangchuk on Sunday during his visit to the beach with renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik.
Wangchuk learned about the Blue Flag concept and was also inspired by how the beach was kept clean in accordance with the environmental norms and world-class sustainable tourist amenities were provided.
He was glad to know that not only the Golden beach is adhering to the norms but similar cleanliness was to be seen at Niladri beach also.
As the State Government is planning to redevelop five more beaches in different districts to meet the requirements for the Blue Flag tag, Wangchuk said that it is something to be pursued not only by beaches in the State but across the country.
Wangchuk expressed that among all the beaches he had visited in India, he had the most enjoyable experience at the beaches in Puri. He congratulated the Odisha Government for the initiative and the people for making it a reality.
