Bhubaneswar: A 32-year-old plumber from Hatina in Kendrapada’s Rajnagar was stuck in Kochi during the nationwide lockdown. He was helped by actor Sonu Sood in returning back to Odisha. Prashant Kumar Pradhan expressed his gratitude towards Sonu Sood by opening a welding shop and naming it after him.
Prashant’s shop has been named ‘Sonu Sood Welding Shop’, a fitting tribute to the messaih of migrants.
Sood had arranged a special flight from Kochi for stranded Odia migrant workers on May 29. When Prashant failed to get a ticket in the Shramik Special train he came to know about the special flight and managed to get a seat in it.
Prashant was working in a private company as a plumber near Kochi airport. He lost his job during lockdown and was in a pitiable state. The man hails Sood as messaih and decided to open a shop naming it after the actor.
Sood has been working relentlessly ever since COVID-19 struck India and the nation was subsequently locked down. He came to the rescue of lakhs of migrant workers stuck in Mumbai and several other places by facilitating their travel back home.
