Balasore: The daughter of a betel shop owner has shone in the matriculation exams, results for which were declared on Thursday by the Board of Secondary Education.
Bhagyashree Das of Soro has scored 93% by securing 560 out of 600 marks in the tenth board exams. Bhagyashree’s father runs a betel shop in Soro municipality area.
She has proved that one can achieve success even if the resources are limited. A1 grade in the matric exam is no mean job. A student has to study hard with determination to score such marks, said Bhagyrashree’s mother.
The young girl’s parents became emotional while sharing their joy. “Though we knew that our daughter will shine, the marks she has secured make us proud. We will support her in all steps of life,” they said.
Not only Bhagyashree, there are many students who belong to poor families but have displayed a stellar performance in the matric exam 2023, in which girls have performed better than boys.
