Soro Kanyashram Inmate Dies, 25 Others Fall Ill After Taking Mid-Day Meal

Balasore: While one girl student of Soro Municipal Gandhi Sevasangh Purubai Kanyashram in Balasore district died on Friday, another 26 have taken ill today. Out of the 25 who have taken ill, one is critical.

According to reports, on Friday a girl student of the Soro Municipal Gandhi Sevasangh Purubai Kanyashram fell ill after taking mid-day meal at the Kanyashram. She was admitted to the Govt. Hospital at Soro.

As her health condition deteriorated she was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DDH) here.

However, she succumbed to her illness while undergoing treatment in the evening.

Today morning, one inmate of the Kanyashram were shifted to the DDH here after their health condition got serious.

Following the incident, under directions of Balasore Collector, a medical team accompanied by ADMO Dr Mrutunjay Mohapatra, DCPO Swagatika Daskar, Soro BDO Karunakar Dhinda, Balasore Food Safety Officer visited the Kanyashram.

The medical team examined the health condition of the inmates of the Kanyashram.

Following examination by the medical team 25 inmates of the Kanyashram were shifted to Soro Govt Hospital for treatment as they complained of sickness.
