Bhubaneswar: Sourabh Soumyakanta Das became the top scorer in the State for the JEE Main 2020 exam. He scored a 99.99 percentile in the entrance exam for the premiere institute of India.
In the results that were published late last night, nine candidates topped the entrance exam by scoring a perfect 100 percentile. Odia boy Sourabh scored 99.9924070 and became one of the top scorers in the country.
The exam was conducted by HRD Ministry’s National Testing Agency across the nation from January 7-9 and saw 9, 21, 261 students registering for it. However, 8, 69, 010 appeared for it and only 1.5 lakhs cleared it. They would now appear for JEE Advanced on May 17; the result for same will be out by the second week of June and seat allotment will be completed by the third week of June.
The JEE is a gateway to get admission in Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s, or Bachelor Master Dual Degree Courses. Admission is provided to qualifying candidates in Engineering or Architecture Courses in top institutes of IITs, CFTIs, NITs, etc.
