Bhubaneswar: The south-west monsoon has advanced into some more parts of Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Northwest Bay of Bengal, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and some parts of Bihar.
The northern limit of the southwest monsoon is now crossing through Amravati, Gondia, Durg, Rampur (Kalahandi), Malda, Bhagalpur and Raxaul, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said through a special bulletin.
The weather department further stated that conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Northwest Bay of Bengal, some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, remaining parts of Sub Himalayan West Bengal and some parts of Bihar and Jharkhand during next two-three days.
Meanwhile, heat wave condition prevailed at one or two places over Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Bolangir. Warm Night condition prevailed at one or two places over Bolangir of South Interior Odisha.
Some parts of south interior, north interior and south coastal Odisha experienced light to moderate rainfall while dry weather prevailed over the districts of North Coastal Odisha.
The highest maximum temperature of 42.3°C was recorded at Nuapada and Nabarangpur registered the lowest minimum temperature of 22.0°C.
