Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of Odisha.
“The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Karnataka, Telangana, remaining parts of Andhra Pradesh, some parts of Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, remaining parts of Northwest Bay of Bengal, remaining parts of Odisha & Gangetic West Bengal, some more parts of Jharkhand & Bihar and some parts of East Uttar Pradesh today,” today’s midday weather bulletin of the IMD’s Meteorological Centre here said.
The IMD has forecast that light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours.
The weather agency has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, and Cuttack and Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nawarangapur, Koraput, and Malkangiri during the next 24 hours.
The agency has issued a ‘Yellow’ alert for the aforementioned districts.
Similarly, the IMD has forecast that the sky will be generally cloudy with one or two spells of rain or thundershower in Bhubaneswar and its neighbourhood during the next 24 hours.
