**Bhubaneswar**: Shankar Behera, a constable was suspended on Wednesday for allegedly having allowed Pradip Sethi, chief of Artha Tatwa (AT) Group, who is undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College & Hospital at Cuttack to use his mobile phone to talk to someone.
“Constable Shankar Behera has been suspended. Additional DCP has been instructed to submit the report within seven days. The CCTV footage of the SCB hospital will be scrutinized. Further action will be taken after the inquiry report is available. We will take steps to track and stop such kind of misuse by both under trials and police personnel,” informed Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi here on Wednesday.
There was a complaint that Sethi has been using Behera’s mobile phone to speak to someone.
When the medical authorities were asked, they, however, said they can only comment on treatment not anything else.
“He came here from jail for treatment and has been undergoing treatment at Mental Health Department of the Hospital. Jail authorities are with him,” said Prakash Chandra Mohapatra, Dean and Principal of SCB Medical.
Notably, Sethi has been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after he cut his wrist in the Jharpada Jail alleging that he was not being provided with proper medical care.
Sources said Sethi would be soon released from the hospital.
