Angul: At least three persons were killed and another critically injured after a speeding truck ran over them in the Bargapali area under Kishorenagar police limits in Odisha’s Angul district on Thursday late night.
According to reports, the deceased were traveling to Bhubaneswar from Sundargarh by bus. As the bus developed a flat tyre and was parked alongside the road, they alighted from the vehicle and stood on the road waiting for the repair work to get over.
After a while, a speeding truck crushed the four passengers under its wheels resulting in the mishap. All four were rushed to Rairakhol Hospital where two passengers succumbed to injuries. The third passenger died while undergoing treatment at Kishorenagar Hospital.
The condition of the fourth passenger is said to be critical.
Rairakhol police reached the hospital and started an investigation into the incident.
