Bhubaneswar: The Election Commission of India has ordered a Special Summary Revision (SSR) of the electoral roll in the 71-Nuapada Assembly Constituency of Odisha, where a bye-election is due shortly. The revision will be conducted under Section 21 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, with July 1, 2025, as the qualifying date.
According to a press note issued by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Odisha, the schedule of the Special Summary Revision is as follows:
- Re-arrangement/Modification of Polling Stations: By September 14, 2025 (Sunday).
- Publication of Integrated Draft Electoral Roll: September 15, 2025 (Monday).
- Period for Filing Claims and Objections: From September 15 to September 29, 2025.
- Disposal of Claims and Objections: By October 7, 2025 (Tuesday).
- Final Publication of Electoral Roll: October 9, 2025 (Thursday).
The revision aims to ensure that all eligible voters in the constituency are properly enrolled before the bye-election. Citizens have been urged to check the draft roll, file claims for inclusion, and raise objections if necessary within the notified period.
The final electoral roll, to be published on October 9, will serve as the basis for the upcoming bye-election in Nuapada.
