Bhubaneswar: Acclaimed Indian knee striker Sachin Behera was feliitated by Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera here on Thursday. Sachin set a record by tying a five-kilogram ankle weight and raising the knee to chest level for three minutes.
He broke the previous record of 178 strikes held by former Pakistan boxer Mohammad Rashid by striking out 204 knees. Sachin is a native of Larka village in Boden block of Nuapadha district. He attributed the success to his parents.
Behera met Sachin at his official quarter here on Wednesday and lauded him for bringing glory to Odisha in the field of sports. He advised him to continue with the same spirit and break more records.
