Angul: Banarpal police have unearthed a spurious India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) manufacturing unit during a raid at Talamul Patana village in Angul district on Thursday.
The police arrested two persons and recovered empty bottles and raw material being used in preparing the liquor.
The arrested have been identified as Sangram Sahu (22) and Mantu Behera (19) of Talamul Patana village, said an official press release issued by the District Police Headquarters, Angul.
According to the press release, acting on a tip-off a police team conducted a raid on the unit on Thursday.
Police have seized huge quantity of adulterated liquor, 700 empty liquor bottles, 1040 nos. of caps for sealing bottles, 720 nos. of stickers with Government of Odisha printed on those, materials for preparation of liquor, instruments/apparatus, one motorcycle, three mobile phones, Rs 5,780 in cash and other articles during the raid, the press release added.
The press release said that the accused persons have been forwarded to court while the matter is under investigation.
