Bhubaneswar: Expressing concern over the repeated occurrence of people entering the Puri Jagannath Temple with hidden cameras in their spectacles, Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan has warned that those found guilty of attempting to take unauthorised photos of the temple will face action and punishment.
“Due to the increasing prevalence of spy cameras in spectacles, it has become challenging for the police to detect them during entry. The cameras can only be detected when the flash is triggered during photo capture. We have taken a serious note of the incidents and are concerned about how these individuals are managing to sneak in with these devices, and we will initiate a process to implement stricter security checks. And those found guilty will face action,” maintained the Minister.
In the latest incident, a youth from West Bengal was caught on Tuesday while recording visuals inside the temple using a hidden camera embedded in his spectacles. This is the third such incident in a short period, with two other youths from Puri and Gujarat being caught with similar spy cameras in the past weeks.
