Bhubaneswar: Former Leader of Opposition and senior Congress MLA Narasingha Mishra fell ill while addressing a protest rally before CBI office in the capital city here.
Mishra was immediately rushed to a private hospital after he fainted.
As per party sources, he complained uneasiness and physical complications soon after addressing the Congress protest meet on an open jeep.
Also party sources informed that he had travelled all along from his home turf Bolangir town in order to join the party protest rally.
Talking to media, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Niranjan Patnaik said that Mishra’s health condition was stable and was undergoing treatment at Apollo hospital here.
The PCC chief informed media, “He (Narasingha Mishra) has blood sugar and also blood pressure. He had undertaken strain due to journey straight from Bolangir today. After standing about an hour here in sun and was delivering speech, that’s why the problem. I had been inside, met and talked to him. He is okay.”
Notably, Narasingha Mishra has already undergone open heart surgery prior to the general elections in 2019. He is also diabetic, reliable sources said.
