Bhubaneswar: In anticipation of potential rainfall and thunderstorms after the India Meteorological Department predicted the formation of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal today, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has issued directives to all District Collectors to remain on high alert and ensure preparedness.
According to reports, the SRC has issued an advisory to all districts, particularly those under orange and yellow warnings, to remain vigilant and prepared for potential rainfall and thunderstorms. The SRC has directed the administrative machinery to be ready to face any eventuality.
Citizens have been advised to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety. During thunderstorms, people are urged to seek safe shelter to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Fishermen have been specifically advised to strictly implement safety measures in light of the forecasted weather conditions. This precautionary measure aims to prevent any potential harm or loss of life among fishing communities.
Districts have been instructed to submit immediate reports to the government if occurred due to thunderstorm, whirlwind, hailstorm, lightning and rainfall. This will enable the government to assess the situation, provide necessary assistance, and take prompt action to mitigate the effects of the adverse weather.
