Bhubaneswar: With the India Meteorological Department issuing a yellow warning for heavy rainfall alert to Ganjam, Gajapati, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Koraput districts during Christmas, the Special Relief Commissioner ordered the respective district collectors to keep administrative machinery ready to face the possible eventuality.
“Districts under yellow warning to keep administrative machinery ready to face any eventuality”, read the SRC order.
Besides, SRC has asked people to keep watch on the weather and submit reports on the damage that occurred due to heavy rainfall immediately for the information of the government.
Meanwhile, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for dense fog in five districts of Odisha for Tuesday. A warning has been issued for Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Angul and Kalahandi where visibility will drop below 50 meters.
Dry weather will prevail from December 26 to 28. There is a possibility of rain with cloudy weather from December 29.
The regional meteorological centre has informed that the effects of winter will increase after the next three days and the cold wave will return.
